Take a look at my new product line

Posted by admin | Uncategorized | Saturday 13 October 2007 2:32 pm

In addition to the fantastic line of products from Noevir, I’ve added a link to Organic Health and Beauty. You should see a text link and a banner graphic to the right. I think you’ll be pleased with the selection of personal care, wellness and super food products. Most importantly, the products are all vegan-friendly, so you can shop knowing that not only have the products not been tested on animals, but they contain no animal-related ingredients.

I’ll be providing product reviews and other helpful information as the weeks go by.

Happy Shopping!

This week’s featured MomPack business is Beloved Embroidery. I think embroidered items and monogramming hold a special place in the hearts of anyone, including me, who grew up in the Deep South. Beloved Embroidery has an array of embroidered gift and baby items and also can do custom embroidery and monogramming for you. For the holidays, they have the most adorable candy cane holders; designs include Santa, of course, and an assortment of cute critters. Priced at just $3.50 each you can get one for each of the kids, grandkids, or nieces and nephews. Stop by their website and pick up a special personalized gift or a few stocking stuffers for the holidays.

Review Your Skincare Routine

Posted by admin | Uncategorized | Wednesday 3 October 2007 10:01 am

Now that Fall is here and the weather is changing, it’s a good time to review our skincare routines. Cooler weather usually means drier air; some of us who had to fight mid-day shine during humid summer days may suddenly find that our cheeks are too dry.

Tweak your basic routine to keep your complexion looking fantastic. Continue with your usual cleanser and toner, rarely will you need to vary this step with the seasons. Instead consider adding a special treatment either before or after your regular moisturizer. For example, with the Noevir 99 Line you could start using the Protecting Skin Cream on your cheeks and other dry areas of the face. If you are faced with very severe dryness, you can use the Extra Moisture Cream. Both of these are used after your normal moisturizer. If you prefer a serum, try the Advanced Moisture Concentrate EX; it’s applied just before your normal moisturizer.

Even though it’s Fall and Winter is just around the corner, don’t neglect to use a sunscreen. The sun is Enemy #1 when it comes to aging our skin. Raysela Face Protector in SPF 30 is the final step in your anti-aging beauty routine. Unlike many other sunscreens, Raysela provides an excellent base for cosmetics.

Regardless of your age, well cared for skin can look radiant during every season of the year.

Handmade Journals

One of my fellow MomPack members runs a website providing an assortment of handmade gift items, including figures made from copper wire called Whirlievers.

Her company is appropriately named WhimzyDoodles. An item that would make a really nice, unique holiday gift for someone in your life who keeps a diary or likes to journal is the hand-bound journal. Each one is hand-crafted so no two are exactly alike. The journal includes 52 weeks of calendar pages and inspirational messages. You also get a Whirliever of your choice on a ribbon to use as a bookmark. The journals are available in six different colors to suit anyone’s tastes. The price is a modest $30, so visit WhimzyDoodles today and get a head start on your holiday shopping.

Holiday Gift Wish Lists

Posted by admin | Uncategorized | Wednesday 19 September 2007 1:44 pm

If you and your friends and family have a hard time trying to decide what gifts to buy each other each holiday season, Forget Me Never Solutions has tools you can use to eliminate the guesswork. You can use the Free Friends and Family Wish List to create your gift lists and then have them emailed out to the whole family.

No more last minute phone calls to your sister living on the other side of the country to figure out what your three little nephews want for Christmas.

I don’t know how easy it will be to get all your friends and family on board with this idea, but it might be worth a go if you’re looking to ease the stress of holiday shopping.

Hair Care

Posted by admin | Uncategorized | Wednesday 12 September 2007 3:28 pm

This weekend when I changed my hair color from summer’s strawberry blond to a darker light auburn, I was thinking about all the products I buy for my hair. I considered lining them up here on my desk to review, but realized I’d run out of space in a hurry.

I have what I call “crazy lady hair.” It’s more than wavy but not a tight curl. It expands in high humidity and frizzes to the point I always have a lovely halo. I’ve been to very, very few hairdressers who could figure out how to deal with it. So, I’m always buying the latest and greatest products in a desperate effort to keep it under control.

My favorite right now is Sunsilk’s Anti-poof 24/7 creme. It does a decent job of keeping my hair under control and doesn’t leave it feeling greasy. Most days that’s all I use. If I’m actually going to style my hair, I add on Aussie’s Sydney Smooth Tizz no Frizz Gel. Unlike a lot of gels, it doesn’t leave my hair feeling stiff. If I want a little more shine, I currently like Garnier Fructis Style’s Brilliantine Shine Glossing Spray – I just wish it came in an aerosol instead of a pump. To top it all off, I’m totally addicted to Aussie’s Mega Hair Spray. You get a true flexible hold and it smells fantastic. Could a girl put more stuff on her hair?

Since I color my hair, I want to make sure it doesn’t get dried out. I really like the Radiant Red shampoo and conditioner from John Frieda. And for deep conditioning I use the Noevir Tokara Sea Mineral Deep Conditioner. It does not weigh my hair down, and in the winter I have even used it everyday to combat the effects of indoor heating and dry cold air.

I’d love to hear your hair care routines, leave a comment or drop me an email.
