Gorgeous Grays
I’ve colored my hair for a long time and said I would never go gray. Well, you know what they say about never saying never. I’ve got a lot of hair and it grows fast. Frankly, I got tired of having to touch it up every three to four weeks. When it came time to color in December I just decided to give it up. Now, of course I’m getting lots and lots of gray hair. So, the questions become 1) how to keep it from looking faded and yellow and 2) what makeup colors are going to best keep me from looking washed out. I did a bit of research and found a fantastic resource with excellent picture of gals with gorgeous gray hair on the Oprah website called “The Gray Hair Bible.” I’m going to be implementing some of those ideas and I’ll let you know what products I find most helpful.
One of the tips is about using the correct color of blush. I had already noticed that I needed a slightly more intense shade than in the past. These are their color recommendations:
- Light English rose for fair skin
- Bright peony for medium or olive skin tones
- Rich, candy pink for dark complexions
Of course, without any examples of what those colors mean, it’s kind of hard to figure out what you should buy. Never fear, The Beauty Geek is on the hunt and will let you know where to find the best shades!
