Mean Old Mother Nature

Friday I was working in my garden and something flew into my face. I brushed it away and it bumped my nose. Or so I thought it just bumped my nose. When I went in I had a little red dot on my nose — a little sting. No big deal. My Noevir foundation easily covers it up.

By Saturday the little red dot is now a not so little red bump. Uh-oh. By Sunday I have a large, painful, red, black and blue bump. Nothing can cover that up! It was so painful I crushed up an aspirin and made a paste to put on the bump. That actually worked pretty well. Then I dug out some Orajel and tried that — worked like a charm. It didn’t get rid of the bump, but it did ease the pain.

Come Monday the sting ruptures. And I’ll leave it to your imagination as to how icky that was! I treat it with some antibiotic ointment and some more Orajel. Today, Tuesday, it has gone down quite a bit and is no longer painful. But now I can see a tiny black stinger. Why couldn’t I see that on Friday? Maybe I just wasn’t looking. I’ve tried to be pretty hands off so I don’t create any infection or scarring, so I’m hoping the stinger just works its way out.

In the mean time, I look like a middle-age woman with a monster zit on my nose. Really, people have been staring. I thought about telling this whole story, but it just wasn’t worth the effort.

While dealing with the sting, I’ve also been trying Noevir’s new NO-AGX (pronounced No Age X). I’m impressed with this product. It has a kind of a milky texture that smooths effortlessly over the skin. Oddly enough, you tone after putting on NO-AGX, but that seems to actually intensify the smoothing sensation. NO-AGX does an excellent job of evening out skin texture and reducing the visibility of large pores. I recommend it for all middle-age ladies looking to perk up their skin…. just don’t expect it to do much for insect stings!
